the sterilization of Christmas

Is anyone else sick to death of politically non-offensive Christmas comments, cards, displays, etc?
I am in a microscopic minority of Republican atheists but I was raised catholic and went to protestant churches too. I think every time I hear that someone had to remove a manger scene or change their sentiment from "Merry Christmas" to "Happy Holidays", who comes up with this shit?

Is there a cluster of people outside the christian upbringing circles with nothing better to do than decide what offends them and file petitions to get rid of it?
I can't think of a single human being christian, muslim, jewish or atheist who has driven past a church manger scene and thought "i dont like that there" and if they did WHO CARES WHAT YOU LIKE? IT'S AMERICA!

The biggest achilles heel to the athiest and agnostic community is they pick the dumbest battles.
I think it is ridiculous every time I read the paper and hear some idiot is trying to pull a scuplture of the ten commandments out of a courthouse! In fact, I am compelled to ask "Why are you in the courthouse so frequently that it matters to you?"

Oh yeah, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

STOP REWARDING FAILURE

I would not expect a cash injection if I stopped managing my personal finances and went on a luxury vacation. No politician, Republican or Democrat who votes YEA on bailouts will see a vote from me or a check from me as long as they or I live.

Stop rewarding poor businesspeople! It is not my responsibility to save them when they sink. It is also not my fault that the workers in these factories chose their vocations. They will just have to do what humans have been doing for 1 million years. ADAPT AND EVOLVE! Do they think every single college graduate stopped learning on their 22nd birthday and did exactly what they planned to do for a living that day? I know I didn't. They can go become manicurists, or barbers, or chefs, NOT MY PROBLEM.
