We're in a recession right?

Ok, I haven't blogged in a while because I haven't seen anything worthy of writing about.
Today I saw several things that indicate bad business practices.I walked past a construction site with a door, not a door sitting on the ground, a complete installed door with locks and a doorknob. Someone wrote neatly in sharpie-marker "DOOR" on it. This tells me that at some point someone did NOT know this was a door. We have something in the way of 12% unemployment and a major recession. It was more important to remind some worker what a door is than hire a competent individual. I chuckled and drove on to my destination.

Tonight, after the gym, I visited the Giant supermarket. It was about 5:40pm, I made my way back to the do-it-yourself salad bar to find the guy removing the last ramikan of dressing. I asked him "at what time of day does this salad bar normally close-up-shop?"He said "normally between 7pm and 8pm but I wanted to go home."I took this concern to the manager since I know one of the assistant managers. I indicated to the manager that this was unusual and that I am a consistent customer of his store shopping for my entire family there on a weekly basis. He responded "Sorry to hear that" and then clarified that he had no intention of opening up the salad bar. I mentioned that I am a manager of network engineers and when a resource takes a walk on me, I am still obligated to fulfill the customer's needs or nobody gets paid. This fell on quite deaf ears.
Why is it that the longer I am in business the more bad business I bear witness to?

Freedom of Speech Dies!

A judge in Texas has decided that the previous rulings protecting the identities of bloggers exercising the first amendment on the internet are no longer valid. http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2009/02/texas-judge-orders-site-to-identify-anonymous-trolls-flamers.ars .

It looks like not one whole month after the inauguration of the socialist leader, the first amendment is dead. I will miss America and I will try to post for as long as I can.
Never thought you'd see a Republican thinking "Canada" for the right to speak freely did you?

Mayor Nutter does his Republican impression

Last night, the working-its-way-to-becoming-a-third-world-country Philadelphia enforced warrants on several scofflaws. I'm actually surprised that this guy has done anything to reduce crime in that city. When's the last time you heard of them locking up criminals in Philadelphia?
I guess it's more effective at raising the revenue the city needs. What a novel idea!
Enforce laws, and enact penalties! If this works, we could come up with a name for it.. something like Democracy!
