I think the unemployment extensions coupled with the employers refusing to accept resumes from "overqualified" people is prolonging the recession (which at this point economically outlasted the great depression). In previous recessions, we all humbled ourselves and took a step or two back from our current pay grade.. worked a lower job, whatever you want to call it. It paid the bills and after 8-9 months, you were back above board. We'd paid back our creditors enabling them to pay their vendors. then consumer spending would amp up and development would improve increasing the creation of jobs. I'm no economist but this is how I've seen it work in the past and all the current economists are doing is finger pointing and blaming wet sidewalks for rain.
Start hiring upper level professionals for mid level jobs. Who cares if they leave in 6 months? The jobs you need done now will be done, most likely done right by a more experienced person, and the market will right itself creating a healthy market for everyone.

Mammograms being removed for women under 50
I am neither a doctor nor a woman, but I know women who had breast cancer before their 50th birthday and because of mammograms, they detected it and are alive today. I believe that whether this study was started before obama got in, or not, it has shades of socialized medicine all over it and will only result in people losing mothers aunts sisters and grandmothers to a detectible fightable disease.
I just had an intellectual discussion with a woman scientist who indicated that not all types can be defeated with early detection. That is a moronic defense for making no attempt to detect the disease to begin with. I wonder, after mammograms, how many other preventative measures Obamacare will take away from us as Americans. Please comment and tell everyone to stop this measure and keep our mothers safe.

More terror surrendering
Ok, I had to watch Barack Obama shake hands with Khaddafi, I have to watch the war on terror let every terrorist out of Gitmo but this takes the cake. I WILL NOT BUY ANYTHING MADE IN SCOTLAND OR THE UK.
Ken McAskill, Justice secretary of the shithole that is Scotland, has decided that a dying terrorist who took the lives of hundreds of people who cannot be released from "dead" can go home to be with his libyan terrorist family. Abdel Basset Ali al-Megrahi, the only terrorist convicted of bombing the Pan Am flight that took the lives of 189 Americans has served 8 years in jail. 8 years! That's nothing thats less than 16 days per victim! This is where the world is going. Muslim terrorists win, honest, forthright freedom lovers lose.

This Race thing....again
I was down with "Everybody's equal already" until this Harvard professor thing surfaced. I didn't follow the news stories because at first glance it seemed cut and dry. I heard "cops get call, told black guys trying to get into a house or houses, they show up and request ID, homeowner who happens to be black gets hostile with cop and refuses to show ID."
Before I even imagined it could become a black/white thing my mind said "another egomaniacal professor thinking the world knows of his glory" I had professors like that. Black or white, they think that they are celebrities and when the cop didnt see him and go "Oh my gosh it's him! it's Professor Gates!" He got angry and obstinate. Next thing you know president Obama is calling a cop stupid for following a procedure. The cop wasn't profiling. He wasn't given a list a the beginning of the day that read "get those black home invaders". He received a single call from a neighbor with a description that included black. What if it included "tall"? So anyway, president Obama is backpedaling faster than a husband who didn't get the "do these shoes make me look fat" question right. Note I said backpedaling, not to be confused with apologizing. I hate to prime a heated issue's pump but ---thoughts???

Fat America gets fatter
Ok, so my foot's broken but I can walk. I went to the boardwalk and proceeded to see 100s of people over 50lbs overweight sitting on a tramcar to avoid walking 1 block. I walked about 3 miles on my broken foot. Diabetes drugs made something in the way of $31B last year. This year it'll probably be $50B. I saw a broke down tramcar full of people so I stopped and watched. The other tram pulled up, the waiting chunkies hopped on and rode for one maybe two more blocks.. I swear these are people who influence the behaviors of children.
Tramcar ride--------------------------$2.50
Diabetes drugs----------------------->$300 a month
Knowing I'll never be found on either---Priceless

Dead Perverts society
First, heartfelt condolences to the friends and family of Farrah Fawcett who bravely fought cancer for a long time.
Now onto the rant. How sick is it that this woman, a great lady with a challenging family life, a tumultuous final couple years and a brave battle against a horrible disease is overshadowed by the death of a corrupt deviant who bought his way out of justice, not one, but TWO times. This is not a random guy who was on the street and some girl pointed him out. This is a sick man who admitted to taking little boys into his bed. Instead of hearing about the brave struggles of a woman who culturally changed the world from the 70s forward, I had to hear 100 Michael Jackson songs on radio stations that don't even support the "pop music" format.
This guy deserved no accolades at death. If anything, he deserved to die sooner for what he put those children through. IF there could be any question of his guilt, his father abused him, and his sister flashed all of our children at the superbowl. There is a link to genetics, family conditioning and being a sex offender. It is more documented than STD propogation. There will always be fans who choose to argue against it but this is a family of deviant people who don't feel that the laws of decency apply to them and I am certain that we have not heard the final death nell of corrupt sexual behavior committed by them.

Obesity as an epidemic
Do terms like "BBW" downplay the obesity epidemic in the western world? With all the new political correctness in the world, we are no longer allowed to remind people who are more than 30% overweight and sedentary of the inherent risks to their health. Now they have a way they can find validation for being self-destructive with the personals-ad acronym BBW big beautiful woman.
A MEDCO report finds that diabetes treatments were the second leading contributor in total dollars to prescription drug spending growth in 2006, trailing only cholesterol drugs. Spending on diabetes treatments increased 14.5 percent from 2005 to 2006 and the use of diabetes drugs increased 5.1 percent.
I dont care how wonderful a charitable, caring, philanthropic human being one might be as a person. There is no justification for a weight of 375 pounds unless you are a motorcycle.

oh great another one
As most of you know, President Obama is appointing Judge Sonia Sotomayer to the US supreme court. This woman leans to the left of Karl Marx!
Just a taste from another person's blog
Abortion Rights:Sotomayor held that the plaintiffs did have standing with regard to their equal protection claim, but she ultimately held that the claim failed under rational basis review because the government “is free to favor the anti-abortion position over the pro-choice position” with public funds.
First Amendment - Speech:Sotomayor acknowledged that the rule required individuals to choose between holding a high-ranking party position and receiving court appointments, but she ultimately concluded that such an “incidental effect on individual decision-making, however, furthers the rational and legitimate goal of eliminating corrupt court appointments.”
First Amendment - Religion:Sotomayor held that the inmate’s First Amendment’s rights were violated because the feast was subjectively important to the inmate’s practice of Islam.
Yes, you heard it here second, Sotomayer loves protecting Islam. It's coming my fellow Americans. We will have sharia law and women will be in tents. books speaking out against the government will be outlawed.

More from the religeon of peace
http://www.csmonitor.com/2009/0521/p06s04-duts.html
Christian Science Monitor reports at the above link about the recent arrested terrorists planning to attack synagogues and military aircraft. The suspects said that they wanted to "do jihad". While I am incredibly glad they were captured before any attack on our soil, it elevates my existing concern about President Obama's ability to wage war on terror. I just lack confidence in his foreign policy and completely absentee senate history. This is not someone that makes me feel safe. He's the one who closed gitmo. Where did he send those terrorists? I don't want them on my soil!

When is America going to be a carbon copy of North Korea? We arleady stifle anyone speaking out against the ideas or words or actions of the current socialist in the white house.
Just today, a protester jumped up to make a statement against Obama, the adept and highly skilled audio engineers at the catholic university where the president was speaking, made sure nobody heard what the heckler had to say. When someone spoke out against Bush, he not only was permitted, he was given a REALITY SHOW!!
I never complained about that. The First amendment to the United States constitution used to guarantee one's right to free speech.
The media, much like the devil's minions in the Omen series of movies, has done everything it could to thwart voices of opposition so nobody would know what they are saying.
As soon as someone asks what that heckler was saying, he is addressed as a tinfoil hat wearer. I never even said I knew I'd agree with the heckler. but the brainwashing runs so deep that anyone speaking out in a way that could oppose der fuhrer Barry Soetero, is deftly silenced.

Unexpected Workplace Enjoyment
With all the political correctness rapidly deployed in the world, everyone needs to grab whatever legal-to-have enjoyment they can. I'm working harder at this since being laid off by a certain three-letter telecom in January. I'm delivering flowers for now. Today I had a taste of that "workplace enjoyment". I stopped at a monstrous house with a wraparound driveway with a large arrangement for, let's call her Jane Doe. So I knock on the door and a mature sophisticated woman answers. I say " I have an arrangement for Jane Doe." The woman replies " I'm Jane's mother" then directs me to place the arrangement on a table. While this lady is signing the receipt she asks "what does the card say" I reply that it says "Jane, sorry to hear about the death of your mother".
well I just about held the laughter til I got back to the truck.
The woman turned about 4 shades of red and purple, and I spent the rest of the day saying "I see dead people"

Crime in Detroit
Bob Nardelli, that quack that was so universally incompetent that they didn’t let him succeed Jack Welch at GE. He went on to devastate shareholder value at Home Depot, taking a chunk of my money with him. Now he stands to leave Chrysler, another firm he decimated, with $20M! Who the fuck is letting this happen? Who, among shareholders, is allowing these quacks to crush the companies? We vote out politicians we don’t like when our income isn’t even on the line! Why are we throwing out those proxy vote statements they send us? Everything this guy touches turns to shit! He’ll resurface as the CEO of some other company and smart shareholders will dive overboard like rats leaving the titanic, but the media will make all sorts of frivolous bullshit comments about the “sweeping changes he wants to bring” to the new company.

Specter is a Spectre now
As everyone knows by now, Arlen Specter converted back to democrat. To some this may have been a surprise but to those of us who have followed his socialism-pursuits for several years or those of us who remember he only became a Republican to improve his candidacy in Philadelphia, it is no surprise. This man has never been a true Republican. He lacks morals, he places no value on hard-work or earning your way. I am only surprised it took him so long after President Bush left office to show his true colors!

Finding humor in the economic downturn
Today, I was in line at a restaurant behind a kid who's face bore more metal fragments than a war veteran hit with shrapnel. He was tattooed from end to end, and was complaining to a friend how difficult it is for him to find a job. I had to stifle back the laughter.
How sad is it that some sick sadist has more freedom to wear shrapnel in his lip while at work than I have to enjoy a meal not risking contamination from his mutilations?
If your restaurant is found to employ servers with metal in their face that was not prescribed by a doctor, I wont be eating there again!

Why do Liberals criminalize success?
Why is it becoming socially criminalized to have a career that feeds your family, a job you're proud of, and an income that affords you the ability to retire before you expire?Every liberal Obamabot I know is screaming obscenities at those of us who went to college, studied hard, and worked for what we have. There's an old russian proverb that accurately describes democrats."kill my neighbor's goat"An old Russian fable involves two peasants who live on neighboring plots of land. One peasant owns a goat; his neighbor does not. One day an angel of mercy comes down from heaven and speaks to the peasant who has no goat. The angel offers him one wish, anything he wants. The peasant makes up his mind immediately.“Please kill my neighbor’s goat”’ he says. Such jealousy has broad political implications. Millions of “poor” would only be too happy to see a new regime sweep away the success that has let a few of their neighbors amass wealth. Rather then obtain equal wealth, they want equal misery by saying “Please kill my neighbor’s goat.”
Here's what i think runs through the current president's head when he meets a republican.
"Hi, My name is Barack Obama,I see you went to not one, not two, but three colleges, graduated from all of them with high marks, worked 24 hour shifts on occassion, and continue to pursue wealth to provide for your family. I'm going to punish you so I can give money to drug addict homeless people. thereby causing a shift where hard working people have to live in tents while drunks and drug addicts can apply for claim on your former splendor.Hope you saved enough to live off of for the next 45 yrs of your life Mr Hardworking Industrious Taxpayer. "

We're in a recession right?
Ok, I haven't blogged in a while because I haven't seen anything worthy of writing about.
Today I saw several things that indicate bad business practices.I walked past a construction site with a door, not a door sitting on the ground, a complete installed door with locks and a doorknob. Someone wrote neatly in sharpie-marker "DOOR" on it. This tells me that at some point someone did NOT know this was a door. We have something in the way of 12% unemployment and a major recession. It was more important to remind some worker what a door is than hire a competent individual. I chuckled and drove on to my destination.
Tonight, after the gym, I visited the Giant supermarket. It was about 5:40pm, I made my way back to the do-it-yourself salad bar to find the guy removing the last ramikan of dressing. I asked him "at what time of day does this salad bar normally close-up-shop?"He said "normally between 7pm and 8pm but I wanted to go home."I took this concern to the manager since I know one of the assistant managers. I indicated to the manager that this was unusual and that I am a consistent customer of his store shopping for my entire family there on a weekly basis. He responded "Sorry to hear that" and then clarified that he had no intention of opening up the salad bar. I mentioned that I am a manager of network engineers and when a resource takes a walk on me, I am still obligated to fulfill the customer's needs or nobody gets paid. This fell on quite deaf ears.
Why is it that the longer I am in business the more bad business I bear witness to?

Freedom of Speech Dies!
A judge in Texas has decided that the previous rulings protecting the identities of bloggers exercising the first amendment on the internet are no longer valid. http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2009/02/texas-judge-orders-site-to-identify-anonymous-trolls-flamers.ars .
It looks like not one whole month after the inauguration of the socialist leader, the first amendment is dead. I will miss America and I will try to post for as long as I can.
Never thought you'd see a Republican thinking "Canada" for the right to speak freely did you?

Mayor Nutter does his Republican impression
Last night, the working-its-way-to-becoming-a-third-world-country Philadelphia enforced warrants on several scofflaws. I'm actually surprised that this guy has done anything to reduce crime in that city. When's the last time you heard of them locking up criminals in Philadelphia?
I guess it's more effective at raising the revenue the city needs. What a novel idea!
Enforce laws, and enact penalties! If this works, we could come up with a name for it.. something like Democracy!

Why people like me need prozac!
I went on my lunch break today and decided it would be a nice idea to dump the 20 bucks in change on my dresser into the free coin counter.
So I get in the bank and at the front of the 4 people deep line to the coin counter is a 90-ish woman with two oversized canvas bags filled with pennies... already wrapped pennies.
so this little old lady clearly befuddled with the shiny blinking box (computerized coin counter) proceeds to tediously unwrap one 50cent wrapper of pennies at a time and slide them gingerly into the high powered computer that could probably count them all by weight in 3 seconds.. Not to be outdone, there is a cluster of mature ladies behind this woman offering wisdom into the workings of the shiny magic box. So I decide it would be a better idea to go get my lunch and come back.. I go to the local burger king and order a double whopper made with bacon pickles ketchup and cheese,, nothing else,, just a whoppersized double cheeseburger.. I take my first bite.. no cheese.
so I proceed to the register and complain,, the clerk looks at me like I'm missing a screw or two. I said.. "my receipt says this should have cheese". so they send me another one.. then i start to think about all the interest that old lady's pennies could have been earning in a savings account and ruin whats left of my lunch for myself.
