I was down with "Everybody's equal already" until this Harvard professor thing surfaced. I didn't follow the news stories because at first glance it seemed cut and dry. I heard "cops get call, told black guys trying to get into a house or houses, they show up and request ID, homeowner who happens to be black gets hostile with cop and refuses to show ID."
Before I even imagined it could become a black/white thing my mind said "another egomaniacal professor thinking the world knows of his glory" I had professors like that. Black or white, they think that they are celebrities and when the cop didnt see him and go "Oh my gosh it's him! it's Professor Gates!" He got angry and obstinate. Next thing you know president Obama is calling a cop stupid for following a procedure. The cop wasn't profiling. He wasn't given a list a the beginning of the day that read "get those black home invaders". He received a single call from a neighbor with a description that included black. What if it included "tall"? So anyway, president Obama is backpedaling faster than a husband who didn't get the "do these shoes make me look fat" question right. Note I said backpedaling, not to be confused with apologizing. I hate to prime a heated issue's pump but ---thoughts???

Fat America gets fatter
Ok, so my foot's broken but I can walk. I went to the boardwalk and proceeded to see 100s of people over 50lbs overweight sitting on a tramcar to avoid walking 1 block. I walked about 3 miles on my broken foot. Diabetes drugs made something in the way of $31B last year. This year it'll probably be $50B. I saw a broke down tramcar full of people so I stopped and watched. The other tram pulled up, the waiting chunkies hopped on and rode for one maybe two more blocks.. I swear these are people who influence the behaviors of children.
Tramcar ride--------------------------$2.50
Diabetes drugs----------------------->$300 a month
Knowing I'll never be found on either---Priceless
